WEF has partnered with two Wellesley coding companies who are offering Hackathons for students to enjoy. Hacks are broken into age groups and themes and students can participate in one hack per company.
Details for each of the Hackathon options are provided below.

While there is no cost to participate in the Hackathons, the See Yourself in STEM Program is raising funds for critical diversity, equity and inclusion work. Please consider making a donation to this important cause. The suggested donation to fund your child's participation in either of the Hackathon events is $35.
Code Ninjas Hackathon
Students can participate in one of three hacks based upon their age group, including options for Scratch, Jr. and MakeCode Arcade. The event will kick off with a workshop where Code Ninjas Senseis will talk about what inspired them to get into STEM and then there will be a coding challenge for students to build a game. The challenge will help students prepare for the Hackathon. Your child can sign up for either workshop listed below (participants will be assigned to breakout groups by age).

iCode Hackathon
Students can participate in one of two Hackathon themes using Roblox or Minecraft. There will be a separate hack for each of three age groups in each theme, and students may participate in teams or as individuals. For any of the hacks, children can choose a simple exploration (diving right in and making things) or more complex coding (e.g., LUA programming in Roblox Studio, or JAVA programming of mods in Minecraft).
