Professional Staff Recognition Home

Each March, WEF, Wellesley College and the Wellesley School Committee honor staff members with 25 years' experience in the Wellesley Public Schools . Wellesley College hosts the ceremony at the home of the President of Wellesley College. The ceremony has come to be known as the Chair Ceremony because WEF presents each honoree with a captain's chair decorated with the Town of Wellesley seal. Each honoree is toasted (and sometimes roasted) in a skit, song, poem or speech by a friend or colleague. Each year the Chair Ceremony serves as a wonderful celebration of the dedication of long-term Wellesley Public School employees.
